Where to Get Free Games For Your Site in 2020

There are many people who play games online in their browsers. It is a huge market, and that is why there are so many sites dedicated to browser games. The list is long including Kongregate, Newgrounds, gamejolt, itch.io, coolmathgames, and the list goes on. This type of site started in the 1990s and is still strong today, with no signs of going away any time soon. In this time there has been a change in technologies used such as Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight, all the way to the current HTML5. Web based games are easily accessible to almost anyone and can be addicting whilst simple to run. The advent of HTML5 has even meant that these games can be played on mobile devices.

Because of this, it is no wander that webmasters want to use games to gain traffic on their sites, or even want to make their own gaming sites and platforms. While this may seem like a great idea to some, a major problem in this is getting content for the site, whether making games yourself, getting someone to do that for you, or licensing content. Thankfully, there are many large online gaming platforms that make games available to other websites free of charge. While some allow direct embedding, others provide downloads so you can host them yourself. There are also two technologies being used Flash, and the more modern HTML5. Embeddable games are useful as they are hosted by other websites, and do not require you to set up hosting for the game files.

Due to this I will be using a key for each site listed down below.

It will look something like this:
E|D|F|H
and will come before the name of each website. The key is broken up into four parts, E (embeddable), D (downloadable), F (Flash), H (HTML5). If a part of the key is green, then that means that type of content is available, if it is red, than it is not. So for our example key above, the website provides embeddable content, and it provides content both is the category of flash games and HTML5, it does not provide any downloadable games, as that is red.

E|D|F|H Miniclip
Miniclip is one of the largest online flash games sites. They also offer a wide selection of their games that you are free to embed on your website.

They offer both free games to embed if you keep the pre-roll ads, or you can license the games for around $400 USD each if you want to remove ads, add your own and get it branded.

The page does not specify which gmes are which, so you will have to click on the title which will either take you to the embed code, or will automatically download the file.

E|D|F|Free World Group
Free World Group offers a wide variety of games that you can use on your site. They offer iframe embeddable HTML5 games on the site as well as downloadable Flash games. It does not offer downloadable HTML5 games or embeddable Flash games. The embeddable HTML5 games did not load correctly when testing, so you might not want to use these on your site.

E|D|F|H Games68
Games68 is one of the larger gaming sites which offers over 317000 free online games. There are also thousands of embeddable games that you can use on your site, however they all seem to be flash based.

E|D|F|H Gameflare
Gameflare is a site that provides a wide variety of free online games, and a wide variety of embeddable games, mostly WebGL based HTML5 games. E|D|F|H FreeGamesJungle

E|D|F|H CrazyMonkeyGames

E|D|F|H FreeGamesForYourWebsite

E|D|F|H Flipline Studios
Flipline Studios has a wide selection of downloadable games that you can use on your website. All of the games are flash games that you can downoad and add to your site, none of them are embeddable. Flipline Studios also has the range of 'Papa's' games.
